Wes has produced and hosted his music/interview show, "Wes Houston Presents..." since 2000. The show has won two awards from the Alliance for Community Media, Northeast Region, "In recognition of outstanding video production in the category of performing arts".

Wes Houston has led his own band - THE WES HOUSTON BAND - a group of talented musicians - for over 30 years. In the late '60s/early '70s he was the guitarist/bandleader for Sis Cunningham (of the Almanac Singers), Rev. Fredrick Douglas Kirkpatrick and songwriters Mike Millius and Elaine White.

In a ceremony held in October of 2008 at the Brookhaven Amphitheatre on Long Island, Wes Houston was recognized by the Long Island Music Hall of Fame for his lifetime contribution to the musical heritage of Long Island.
